In an era marked by rapid environmental changes, the connection of food safety to the global crises (e.g. climate change and natural disasters) becomes increasingly pertinent. Environmental issues and specifically the long-term changes in temperature are already affecting many economic sectors while agriculture, fishery, livestock production and therefore the food and beverage industry, is among the first ones. At the same time, the rapid world population and the upcoming food crisis makes the sustainable food management a vital priority at local, national, and international level. Novel policies and practices need to be implemented to secure that all people will have equal access to safe and nutritious food. Therefore, it becomes crucial to understand and address any factors that would influence food safety.
