Environmental initiatives (soil and food production)
About Lesson

Soil fertility at the chemical level is like a delicate balance of essential elements, each playing a different role in supporting plant growth. Key indicators of chemical fertility include macronutrients  such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Nitrogen is essential for growth, phosphorus promotes strong root development and potassium supports overall plant health. In addition, soil pH, a measure of acidity or alkalinity, affects nutrient availability. Balancing and monitoring these chemical factors are fundamental practices to ensure the soil provides the optimum chemical environment for plants to grow.
